Lygature: collaboration for medical innovation

CTMM, headquartered at the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven, will merge with TI Pharma. The two largest public-private institutes in the Top Sector Life Sciences & Health will merge under the name Lygature that will promote cooperation in medical innovation. Both organizations have announced Tuesday, June 9 a meeting in Utrecht.

CTMM (Center for Translational Molecular Medicine), and TI Pharma (Top Institute Pharma) expect that cooperation will bring medical innovations faster to the market. The new Lygature may also focus on topics that are too big and too complex for one organization. With Lygature the Dutch sector joins forces in the area of diagnostics, imaging and pharmacotherapy.

The new organization will become a more important player in the field of public-private research collaboration at both national and European level.

Public-private partnerships

Lygature builds and supports partnerships, seek funding and directs the partnership from its scientific and management capabilities. In the past period it has already built up a portfolio of ten major public-private partnerships. Examples include projects in the areas of data infrastructure as TraIT and sharing important technology resources as in the flagship project of the European Lead Factory.
