Eindhoven hosted the international IEEE Conference
Eindhoven hosted from 20 to 24 May the international IEEE European Student and Young Professional Congress 2015 '. IEEE is the largest professional organization in the world for Electrical and Electronics Engineers with 400,000 members worldwide
During the conference students and recent graduates departments from Western Europe gave lectures, workshops and excursions. All aimed at improving the technical and soft-skills of the eighty participants. During the program itself was Eindhoven was set as a city, both culturally and technically.
The conference was opened on the first day of the new rector of the Technical University Eindhoven, Frank Baaijens. After he took a project manager Marc Jacobs on behalf of Brainport Development the word. He gave a lecture about Brainport and thereby elaborated on the importance and uniqueness of this region.
Jacobs filled his story with reference to the Brainport TalentBOX. This is a special cooperation model between the companies in the Eindhoven region together to promote jobs in the high tech industry. They also share the pool of technological talent with each other so that an optimum match can arise between jobs and job candidate. In this way, member companies try to find more knowledge for difficult to fill (high-tech) jobs.
